Jessica Leung

Jessica was one of the inaugural 25 students accepted to Waterloo's Conditional Acceptance to Pharmacy (CAP) program, which allowed qualified Grade 12 students to have a spot almost guaranteed in the pharmacy program after completing 2 years of undergraduate sciences at the University of Waterloo. After completing her 2 years of undergraduate science studies, she is in her 2B term or second half of Waterloo's co-op only Pharmacy program. As of the moment, she is a Science Ambassador for Pharmacy on main campus, where she promotes pharmacy to incoming high school students. She is also the Co-Logistics Director of a conference in 2016 called Professional Development Week, which will promote networking amongst employers and current pharmacy students. One of her major hobbies is acappella so this is her 8th term singing in the University of Waterloo's A Cappella Club (UW ACE).

        

Elizabeth Liao

University of Toronto

Medical Sciences

Elizabeth is a first year medical student at the University of Toronto. She previously completed three years of undergraduate studies in Life Sciences at Queen's University. She loves to stay busy and enjoys competing with the Varsity Figure Skating Team. Elizabeth knew she wanted to study medicine since her first year at Queen's. She says the path isn't easy, but it's definitely worth it!

 

 

         

 

David Freedman

University of Western Ontario 

Genomic Psychology 

David is a second-year Social Science student at the University of Western Ontario, pursuing a degree in Genomic Psychology. His interests in mental healthcare and innovation led him to co-found Releaf, a mobile application to help individuals suffering from depression. Last summer, he had the opportunity to work in Dr. Stephen Scherer's laboratory at the Hospital for Sick Children and is excited to be in Dr. Ruth Lanius' laboratory for his Scholar's Electives Program at Western. He also enjoys recreational ultimate frisbee and debating. Through Project Pulse, David looks forward to sharing his experiences in 'formal' and 'informal' education with students!

       

Mehul Garach

University of Western Ontario 

Medical School

Mehul Garach is a 3rd year medical student at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) degree at Western University in 2012. Outside of his studies Mehul enjoys sports, video games, and photography.



     

Jessie MacAlpine

University of Toronto

 Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, Computer Science

One of Canada's Top 20 Under 20, Jessie MacAlpine is a second year student at the University of Toronto. Over the past five years, she has developed both a bioherbicide and antimalarial drug currently under review for international patent. This research has been presented around the world and won Best in Category for Medicine and Health Sciences at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Jessie is passionately invested in youth scientific literacy and volunteers with a variety of local and national charities to promote student involvement in fundamental research

 

        

Angela Ma

McMaster University

 Health Sciences

Angela is in her second year in the BHSc program with a specialization in Global Health. She really enjoys in learning about health systems with such an interdisciplinary focus. She volunteers with children in the Hamilton community and is involved with various clubs on campus, as a member of her program's second year council and an art editor of a magazine. She is looking forward to sharing her experiences with you all!

 

 

Chantal Badger

Queen's University 

Life Sciences

Chantal is in her final year studying Life Sciences at Queen’s University, where she plays on the Varsity Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team. She spent a semester abroad in Scotland and is planning on visiting New Zealand next summer. In future she hopes to become a medical doctor and work on global health programs and policies. Chantal has a great love for the outdoors, travel, sports and languages. She speaks English and French and is currently working on her Italian and Spanish.
