Dr. Martin O'Malley
Dr O’Malley is a Staff Radiologist in the Joint Department of Medical Imaging and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Over the last decade, he has assumed numerous leadership positions including Clinical Expert for CT, Site Director for Medical Imaging at Princess Margaret Hospital and Supervisor for the Abdominal Imaging Fellowship Program. He has lectured at numerous national and international meetings, received multiple awards for teaching and research, and has published over 50 articles and book chapters on medical imaging.
Dr. Jigna Purohit
Dr Jigna Purohit started her medical career in Africa where she worked for 10 years. After coming to Canada, and re-writing her Canadian exams, she worked in Oncology and Family Practice at The Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick. She has now relocated to Kitchener, Ontario where she has her family practice. Her hobbies include reading, cooking and spending her time with her family.
Dr. Shany Loukiantchenko
Dentist/ Clinical Research Coordinator
Shany Loukiantchenko’s professional career is quite atypical. In Israel she worked as a dentist as well as a college instructor. In Canada, she went back to school and is now working as a Cinical Research Coordinator. She loves to cook and sped time with her husband and two children.
Dr. Dushyant Desai
Dr Dushyant Desai received his MD in South Africa. He has been practicing in the Kitchener area for the past 20 years.After coming to Canada, and re-writing his Canadian exams, he worked in Cardiology Department at The Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick. He has now relocated to Kitchener, Ontario. Dr. Rano Burton
Dr. Rano Burton
Dr. Burton received her dental degree from the University of Liverpool in 1991, and her Masters of Science and Diploma in Orthodontics from the University of Manitoba in 1997. She has been in practice since 1998. She joined her current practice in March, 2012 and is now carrying on the practice after the untimely death of her partner in February, 2013.
She was a Board member of the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry for 10 years and is a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists and the Waterloo Wellington Dental Society.
She is currently an Associate Professor at University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and in April, 2014 she will begin teaching as an Associate Professor in graduate orthodontics at the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Simran Grewal
Dr. Grewal completed her Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and went onward to complete her Optometry degree in the United Kingdom. She currently works at two clinics in Brampton/Mississauga, providing care to all ages for eye examinations, treatment/management of ocular disease, and refractive surgery co-management. In her spare time, she likes to stay active as well as volunteer overseas providing eye care to rural areas.
Aronela Benea started her nursing career in Romania in 1990. Currently, she is an Advanced Practice Nurse at Women’s College Hospital in the After Cancer Treatment Transition (ACTT) Clinic. She provides cancer survivorship care to patients with various cancers and facilitates their transition back to primary care practitioners. Aronela has a special interest in cancer survivorship care and research. She is the recipient of a couple of awards and scholarships from York University, Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, and Canadian Nurses Foundation. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology Research Committee and the Cancer Care Ontario Patient Symptom Management Group.
